When I was checking out dollarstorecrafts.com I found This
Ruffles and Stuff posted these beautiful glass gem frames. I love them!

I went to Walmart and the dollarstore to look for these glass marbles and I couldn't find any. Fast forward a few days...and then

When we went to the thrift store I found these:

You know when they bag a bunch of stuff together? I never look but I did that day and found 3 containers for $2 I was so excited!!
Then when we went to Ikea I found this:

(at the "as is" section)
So you know what I did with it right? hahah
I first painted this mirror white.

 Then I glued away!!

And voila

It's going to look great in our room re-do!
I had more left over and wondered what to do with them!
I had painted this for our room

And thought why not!! hahah

I am going to hang them on the wall. I think they turned out really nice

I also spray painted a grapevine wreath white. So can you guess my room colour now?!
(if you haven't already)

I hope everyone has a safe and happy new years! See you in 2010!

I am going to link it up to

My old rocker.

I found a lot of great stuff thrifting the other day! I didn't even take pictures of it all, because it is in the crazy messy room of mine and I don't want to have to go and find it (it is really messy!)

Everything was 50% off (I love when that happens!) I bought some pj pants, a nice shirt, a men's flannel shirt(for me), and yahtzee(that Mike and I have already been into!) And Hazel too!

I got:

do you see a theme here? The theme for my bedroom possibly?
I also got a silver tray with handles, two mini white plates for the wall, a glass jar and some other stuff...
But my favourite of the day was this!

This old rocker. They had just put it out and it was still rocking when I grabbed it.
I don't know if I should keep it inside or put it outside in the summer
either way I love it and had to have it!!!
It folds up flat too! I was glad because if it didn't, K might have had to sit in the trunk!

On a side note, I bought the paint for our room today and will be painting Friday!
I will keep you posted!!!

Bedroom Plans

Well, you know how I told you I was going to focus on our bedroom in 2010? I was going to paint it, and paint everything in the room and get a new duvet cover. Then I got thinking. Well, is that kind of silly? I mean we moved in 2.5 years ago and painted it then....so then I decided I wasn't going to paint it. But now, I am back on painting it and we are going to get paint today! I am so excited!! So K if you are reading this...I need to get to Ikea so let me know if you want to come along!!!

I thought I would give you a breakdown of how our room has looked in 2.5 years.

This is what it looked like when we moved in and Mike removed the carpet. We have had to paint over all the wallpaper in the house because the plaster was falling off when we tried to remove the paper.

So we painted, put new carpet down and this is what we had. We were lucky enough that Mike could bring his bed (and sheets and comforter too!) I brought my side table and lamp from home.

We set this up beside the bed, and it looks the same right now...time for a change!!

Then we got a new duvet, and skirt, pillows, curtains, matching side tables and lamps (and a cat) hahahaha

And this is what it looks like right now.

I have wanted a headboard for so long and have all the materials to make it now!!
I am ready for a change! I nice crisp, clean change if you get my drift!!
I still have a few days off so I should be able to paint it before I go back to work Monday.
I can't wait!!

Mom and Dad's house

I haven't posted in over a week! I have been soooo busy! Today was my first real day off. I did work at Rachel's for a few hours though.

I have a really bad habit of starting projects, telling you about them and then not finishing them! So that is my goal this holiday...to finish and show you the projects I have told you about! But until then, I thought I would share some pictures from my mom and dad's house. They have a beautiful house! Especially around the holidays!

I love this block. It was made after I was born, with a R, E and A...K wasn't born so she isn't on it, and doesnt like it too much. hahaha
