CHRISTMAS!

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here! Ok, it has looked this way for a while! I actually put my tree and some other decorations up before the baby came. I secretly knew I would be tired and lazy!! I still have bins of decorations I planned on getting out but I am not going to bother now. The living room is the only room I care about being decorated..it is where we spend most all of our time!! I have a few decorations upstairs, and some on the cabinet in the kitchen but that is about it! Anyway, here is my living room:

That is my rocker from the nursery....I spend all my time down here so I brought it down!

I love Christmas and love all the decorations! Can you see the spot on the tree where the set of lights went out!? We had a set of lights go out last year, on before we even put the lights on the tree and then this one...I think it is time to get all new lights!

Our Halloween Decor

I was a little sad to take down our "fall" mantel but after I decorated for Halloween it was ok! I searched the blog and realized I have never posted about a Halloween mantel. I don't think I have ever done one. Last year I had some sticks in jars and put some crows on them...but I think that is it! I found this picture from my cellphone:

 I do see cheesecloth there...so maybe I did something but I have no idea!

All the supplies I used for this year's mantel are ALL from the dollar store!!

Here it is:

I bought 3 boas from the dollar store and made a feather wreath just like my sister in law. Her blog post on the wreath is HERE

The crows are from the dollar store too! My dad bought me the two little crows on the sticks last year at Michaels for so much money...these were only 1 and 2 dollars! Do you like the black cheese cloth!? I had white up there before but you could hardly see it!

For the banner I made...I found the tutorial HERE. It is super cute, and super easy too!

 

The skull under the cloche is from the dollar store as well.

 Here are some branches with crows on them too...I think I should have spray painted them again though, you can hardly see them!

My Easter Mantle

Hey guys! I know I haven't been posting my usual posting schedule...but it has been a little crazy around here..Anyway, I doubt I will be posting regularly for a while! But I will keep you guys posted for sure!

How was your Easter weekend? Mine was busy, but wonderful as always! I just remembered I never shared my Easter mantle with you!!

I knew I wanted an egg banner type thing...I bought 2 strands of eggs at the dollarstore...... 

 

 They were $1.00 a strand

and as you can tell by the top of the mantle I wanted eggs, bunnies and birds!

I am not a huge fan of rainbow.....I know Easter is supposed to be full of colour...but I didn't like all the colours! So....I bet you can guess what I did...I painted it! (and glittered too!)

  white, green and gold. 

I also painted and glittered the blue eggs that were in the second picture on the mantle.

For the pillow I really cheated and just wrapped it in green and blue floral vintage fabric

Those were the bunnies I painted white last year...

So, what do you think?! This was my first Easter mantle...if you can believe it! I think it turned out pretty well!
