My favourite transformation!

Well, I have painted a lot of things but today I painted my new favourite thing in our house. When we moved in everything was really dated. Lots of floral wallpaper, orange carpet etc. Mike and I have slowly worked room by room to update certain things. The living room is my favourite room in the house which is good because we spend most of the time there! There was one thing though, that just didnt fit. The light.

Yikes. Everything about it made it cringe. But I never changed it. Until today! Last night I was at Mike's parents and was looking through a House and Home (I think) and in one of the ads they had a beautiful black chandelier and I was like, I am going to do that! Alot of people have painted their lights in their blogs and it really seemed to update it! So I went for it, took off all the crystals, soaked them and went to town

Oh it looked better already! Mike didn't like the crystals and didn't think I should put them back on. I thought I should put at least a few back on! I am glad I did. I didnt put them all on just basically on the bottom row!
I love it! It looks like a completly new light and doesnt seem to stick out as much. I think it fits perfectly in the room!

  1. That's a really pretty decorative portion where the chain starts {from the actual light fixture} which you don't even notice in the before pictures. I love chandelier makeovers and I think you did a great job with yours ~ it looks fabulous!

  2. I LOVE chandelier makeovers too! Just finished one for my daughters room. Hers is girly-girly on purpose, but I would love to re-create one like yours for our family's common living space! Beautiful! If you'd like to take a look at the one I just completed....
