Our entrance

As soon as you come through the front door, you automatically make a first impression. When we moved in our house was very dated (and some parts of it still is) as I'm sure you've heard me say. Our front porch however was just plain scary.

Taa Daa! That is what you saw when you looked to the left, before walking into the kitchen! yikes! Look at that floor! It is a weird little spot. We put cheap stick tiles down and painted all the panelling.

It is now where Ben sleeps every night! What is the problem though?! Those ugly dirty curtains we took from somewhere else in the house (we did wash) That were supposed to be temporay! They are still there! That is on the project list. I just kind of forgot about them! What do you think I should put up? Curtains? bamboo blinds? hmmm

There is a little problem though...

They go right behind the angled ceiling and they are really hard to get at! Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I try half curtains?

Other then the curtains, I love the porch!

I am glad that is what you see when you come in, instead of that awful floor and panelling!

The work is never done when you have an old house! Something else always pops up!

  1. Thanks for the blog comment! The porch looks really nice! For curtains, maybe try a roman shade? Or, I just saw on another blog where someone clipped a sheet to a hanger...it looked so cute. I'll see if I can find you a link. :)

  5. Ooh, I like the previous poster's decorative window cling idea. It would give you privacy and a sort of stained glass look that I think would look fab with your house!

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I have been over here once or twice but I kept forgetting to bookmark you. I will add you to my following list so I don't miss anything!
