Kitchen Update

Yesterday was a great day! I worked in the morning, and then went to Louise's for lunch with the girls from work. It was very nice! I came home and found....Q-tips all over the house, a lamp knocked down, and a SOS pad from the downstairs kitchen cupboard in the upstairs bathroom. I was a little ticked. Then late last night guess what I found?
the kitties found my bag of feathers. They somehow opened the bag and they were all over the house! Little feathers all over the house. Oh...what cute kitties. And when I say "they" I mean "Nelson" He is a trouble maker for sure! After that, I stretched out  in the back of the truck with Michael and Sadie and watched the meteor shower! It was a great end to a great day!

Also here's a kitchen update.
I finally picked a colour (with the help of mom and dad) We picked a nice "creamy white" I think it will look really nice, what do you think? Here are some pictures of the kitchen so you can imagine what it will look like
(I didn't end up cleaning up for the picture)
We have a white stove because the other one broke.
the dishwasher recently broke as well so we are going to get another one!  And of course, we think the freezer is on it's way out (in the fridge) So we will have to do some shopping pretty soon I think!
Can you picture the cupboards white with black handles?! I originally wanted silver but I think I am going to try to spray paint the handles first. Since there are 25 handles. Just trying to be thrifty here! hahahah
Here's what the handles looks like now

I thought that thick base was attached, but it isn't! (I could have had a mini knob makeover by now) So since they aren't thick and dated, I am going to try to spray them first. This is what they look like without the base
So much better! And it was funny, when we went to Home Depot to look at knobs, we found almost identical ones with the base! I guess they are back in style?!

I also have to decide what to do with the 2 yellow glass inserts in the cupboards above the stove and second sink. My mom suggested tin tiles, but they are almost $30 each and I would need 2. I am trying to keep the cost down as much as possible! (since we aren't living here forever!) So, any ideas would be helpful! :)

Today I am off with my sister for a mini road trip/sleepover. She is handing out resumes for when she goes back to school so we are staying in her house there, and of course thrifting! There are 4 thrift stores there! And a huge Michael's. I have to some how convince her to drop me off there (since the nearest one to my place is 50 min away!) I have to take advantage of being in the same town as one!  You should see my list, it's huge!

Have a great weekend and I'll be sure to let you know what I got! (if I get anything at all)
