I have been a busy little bee today! I cleaned the entire house and changed the sheets (because I didn't want to have to do it when I get back tomorrow!), I watched an episode of the OC (I am re-watching them!), did a test spray on the kitchen knobs (turned our better then I thought) and crafted a mini cork vase (which I found at Young House Love)
Lets start with the cork vase! I was checking in at Young House Love (which I do regularly) and found this post here and fell in love
I wanted to make one too! I had all the supplies on hand which made it even better! I used this square vase I got at a thrift store for $2 and went to town. (it was previously in my living room with a candle and rocks)
I didn't have stick tiles, which would have been easier. I did however have those cork placemats!
I just layed the vase on the cork, traced around it, and cut it out! I tried spray glue for funsies, but....
Nope! I got out the good old hot glue gun and put 4 blobs in either corner.
And voila!
I think it's so cute! I like the look of it with plants too! So I will have to keep my eye out thrifting this weekend for another square vase! It sits with my sewing stuff for now.
Of course I knew this would happen, I hate the pinboard. hahahah It's the story of my life! Are you guys constantly changing stuff around?!
Next we have our knobs! I set up a little station to test a handle. I didn't have any foam so I just used cardboard I had lying around, put two holes in it and stuck the handle it in.
And sprayed away. I just used a flat black spray paint.
They turned out better then I thought! There are no drips or anything! (I am not the best when it comes to spray paint!) What do you think? Better then the original?!
Are they nice enough to save some money? I think so! I am very happy with how they turned out!
