Our New Bedroom

Well, I said I would post the big reveal this week and of course I wait until the last possible second! It STILL isn't completly finished, but only frames need to be filled, so I thought I would show you anyway...instead of making you wait any longer!!

Now, lets take a look back and remember what the room looked like before:

So I thought I would break it down for you

I still have to paint the nails....eek. So the bed,

I made this headboard just out of beadboard and trim

and I got these 2 frames at the thrift store for $1. They didn't have any glass or anything

I painted them up, and hung frames inside them on the wall!

 For the letters inside, I just printed a font I liked off the computer and framed it!

So then we had this wall

Painted light, new shelf and frames without pictures! They are coming soon! haha

I painted the dresser, and the mirror to this dresser

This dresser was way to big to bring to the room, so I took the mirror and attached it to the one that was already there!

 

I have 3 candles (all from thriftstore) on a thrift store tray

I also have this chest from Mike's mom against the bed. (hope it was ok to paint it Holly!)

this old guy now painted grey,

 

and remember this? It got a fresh coat of white paint

 

Also the new frame from Ikea will hold our baby pictures printed in black and white of course!

Our new puffball fits right in!

So thats it! That is our new room. Mike is still unsure about it. But I am in love!

Resolutins

 Well, it has been a long and crazy week back at work. I picked up an extra shift at Rachel's and that just seems to make things a little more crazy! (and me a little more tired!!)

Like my old pup!!

I have been working on the bedroom and it is practically done. I just need to fill the frames with some pictures. That is all. Everything else is done and it looks great! Hopefully I will get this done this weekend and will get to show you guys!!

As for the new years resolutions, they aren't going so good. hah. I don't think I shared them with you guys.

1. Keep the house tidy. I have a really bad habit of getting something out, and then doing something else and not putting anything away. badbadbadbad. This week it has been better, but not as good as I thought.
2. Eat healthy, whole foods. Again, this has been better, but there is definitely room for improvement.
3. Organize/get rid of stuff I don't need anymore: I haven't even started! ah.
4. Workout: I haven't even started! And there is always an excuse why!

I am hoping this weekend/next week will  be better!!
I am just looking forward to my birthday next week and the mini trip away to Niagra Falls! Wahoo. That will definitely keep me going!

A sneak peak!!

Well, this is the end of a lovely holiday break. It didn't go too fast, which is good! I got to spend some quality time with family, relax, and re-do my bedroom!!! (I am so excited about this)

With the windchill, it was -31F here yesterday. brrr. I just wanted to stay inside all day, but I went shopping instead with my two fave people  T and K We went to Ikea and the mall and got all I needed to finish off my room makeover!  I also got this

I will hopefully be revealing the room sometime this week. It is pretty much done, I just need some pictures for my frames! It looks amazing!( I think anyway) Exactly what I wanted! Mike said it looks like something out of a magazine. I don't know about that but I think it looks very nice.

With this cold weather the dog gets to stay inside and bond with the cat

and I get to wear my favourite hat!! lovelovelove!

 Wow 2010!!

That seems crazy to me. I remember being younger and thinking getting to the year 2000 was a long way away! Yikes. Time flies.

Now on to my birthday! Only 16 days away!! haha

p.s 1 coat of paint is on our bedroom walls at this very moment! (And I am hoping 1 more is all it needs!)
