Hey guys!!

How is everyone!? I know, I know..I have disappeared off the face of the planet!! I've been a bad blogger! But I have a good reason! I am going to let you know sometime this week, hopefully!! You will just have to wait and see!!!

So..what has everyone been up to!? I've been reading, hanging out with friends and family, cleaning up outside and getting all the summer stuff out...just stuff like that...Oh, and sitting by the pond with my husband and our Sadie girl!!! The weather has been beautiful so I have been outside every chance I get!!

I haven't crafted, painted, or blogged. I have just relaxed.

I'm sure blogging will become a regular thing again soon though, so don't worry!

I think the blog needs a spring makeover too! What do you think?!

Well, sorry it took so long for me to check in...you will hear from me very soon!

My Easter Mantle

Hey guys! I know I haven't been posting my usual posting schedule...but it has been a little crazy around here..Anyway, I doubt I will be posting regularly for a while! But I will keep you guys posted for sure!

How was your Easter weekend? Mine was busy, but wonderful as always! I just remembered I never shared my Easter mantle with you!!

I knew I wanted an egg banner type thing...I bought 2 strands of eggs at the dollarstore...... 

 

 They were $1.00 a strand

and as you can tell by the top of the mantle I wanted eggs, bunnies and birds!

I am not a huge fan of rainbow.....I know Easter is supposed to be full of colour...but I didn't like all the colours! So....I bet you can guess what I did...I painted it! (and glittered too!)

  white, green and gold. 

I also painted and glittered the blue eggs that were in the second picture on the mantle.

For the pillow I really cheated and just wrapped it in green and blue floral vintage fabric

Those were the bunnies I painted white last year...

So, what do you think?! This was my first Easter mantle...if you can believe it! I think it turned out pretty well!

Frugal Friday : Coffee Filter Wreath

We got a new coffee maker a while ago and it used different filters then our old one...so instead of throwing them out I saved them for a rainy day. I thought I would make a coffee filter wreath to add to my Easter decor. I was really frugal and used some left over foam core  from my deer head to make a base to glue the filters to. (instead of a wreath form) It worked out well!

Here is part of the process...

 

it looked awful! I was almost going to quit...but thought I would wait to see what the finished project was...and I was glad I did!

Here is how it turned out!

I think I am going to make a page book wreath next!!! (Kayla, you never heard me say that!)

Frugal Friday : Picture magnet

Remember when I made the button magnets earlier in the week? Well, there was something that I thought I could reuse...Do you remember what it was?! Here is the picture from Monday:

 The metal circle the magnets came on!

 I still had this on the fridge..Our Christmas card photo from December...

 So I used the metal circle and traced it around us!

 cut it out...and glued it to the circle.

 Then I put one of the magnets on the back....

and now have a pretty photo magnet on the fridge! (without the Christmas saying!)

Easy!! I love reusing materials!
