The Best Pillow I ever Made

I made some pillows for fall yesterday. It was the best pillow I have ever made. And I owe it all to my friend Stephanie! We were talking about sewing and I said I wish I knew how to put a zipper in so I could make covers for my pillows. Then she told me about an easy way to overlap the pieces of fabic. So I did. And it turned out to be the best pillow I have ever made!

Before my bedroom was completly white, it looked like this
I decided to use the curtains to make a pillow!
I sewed it the way Steph told me, and cheated a little and used the finished edge on the curtain to be the edge you saw on the back of the pillow
Nice right?! Then I got my supplies ready.
I tried with real leaves first, but that was a little unpredictable. So I grabbed my leaf stencil and stenciled on paper first. Then I cut them out, and moved them around on the pillow to see the pattern before I stenciled them on.
But of course, if you know me, I didn't go with my original plan. I tried something else, without the paper hoping it would turn out ok!
I didn't measure or anything! And they turned out pretty good! If you are someone who likes everything to be perfect you should measure!

I love how it turned out!
And I'm ready for fall! (as you can see the frames above the couch are still not filled but will be soon!)
Oh, and thanks again Steph! (but you are still going to have to teach me to put a zipper in! ahhahahah)

  3. I really love this pillow. Size, shape, color, and the way you have the leaves laid out. Sort of geometric but very naturey. Great job!
